Private commissions are works painted to order usually of someone, something or somewhere special to the client. In the past Sarah has captured the the life and personality of people, dogs, horses and cattle in her unique style.
Each painting is produced on canvas either on a regular stretcher frame (suitable for framing) or on a thick, contemporary stretcher frame (suitable for direct hanging). A bespoke framing service is also available where the molding is chosen and hand gesso-finished by Sarah to suit the individual piece.
The Commissioning Experience
Sarah has enjoyed painting many corporate and private commissions from across Britain. She aims to make the experience of ordering a work straight forward and enjoyable.
Upon receiving a request, she will provide a quotation based on the client's individual requirements. The final details, including a time of completion are then agreed between the artist and client in a Commission Contract.
Sarah then visits and personally photographs her subject matter. This gives her vital visual information and inspiration. Then, in the studio she will develop her ideas. In many cases she will provide a few sketches for the client to choose from before finalizing the composition. Once the painting is completed, an image of the piece is sent to the client via email or post for approval.
In rare cases it may be possible for Sarah to work from photographs provided by the client. She would need to view them and determine whether they would provide suitable reference material for her work before accepting the commission.
Canvas sizes are available from 30 x 30 cm to 2 m plus. Prices start at £1000
